SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (PRWEB) SEPTEMBER 07, 2012

CareLinx, a leading online professional caregiver network that helps consumers and institutions easily find, screen, manage, and pay caregivers who match their needs and budget, today announced its selection as a finalist for the AARP Health Innovation@50+ Live Pitch, taking place September 21, 2012 in New Orleans.

Carelinx was one of only 10 startup companies chosen from over 80 candidates vying for a chance to pitch to a who’s who of angel and venture investors during the 2012 Life@50+ AARP National Event & Expo in New Orleans. The event is attended by over 20,000 AARP members and guests from the U.S. and abroad.

“We are very excited and honored to be selected as a finalist for this prestigious event,” said Sherwin Sheik, founder and CEO of CareLinx. “Every day the CareLinx team is reminded how much we are helping our clients across the country when we connect them with caregivers that match their specific needs and budget. This opportunity has given us an extra boost of motivation, since it provides significant validation that what we offer resonates with AARP and their membership.”

CareLinx’s personalized caregiver matching services offer invaluable resources to address varying levels of care needs, many of which are not available through home care agencies and other services. Beyond caregiver matching, CareLinx offers the tools needed to easily manage home care online, and to make home care more affordable and accessible for everyone. Families hiring caregivers through CareLinx are saving thousands per year vs traditional methods.

The AARP Health Innovation @50+ LivePitch features a unique dual pitch format that will have the startups pitching both investors and consumers. In the morning, the companies will pitch the judges and investors. AARP members will be invited to hear the startup pitches in the afternoon. This time, however, the companies will tailor their messages to the consumer audience and accept valuable feedback on how their products and services could better serve the members’ needs. At the end of the day, two grand prizes - the Judges’ Winner and the AARP Consumer Winner – will be announced.
